Coming from a family of 99.9% non-members, I have been extremely blessed to go through the temple for very close relatives. I have only been a couple of times since taking out my own endowments, once in 2018 and again just this week. Not for the not wanting, but logistics of being far from the temple and a busy life, but I finally made it happen. This week I was able to go through for my great grandma.
I was born the day after her birthday and have pictures of her with me as a baby. This time going through the temple, I felt so clean and pure, I felt peace and love. I knew that going through for my great grandma was something she’s been waiting for up in Heaven for 40 years, and I also was able to comprehend the ceremony much more this time. Even though it had been a long time since I last went, it was more clear to me, especially with the changes recently made.
I sat in the temple at one point with tears in my eyes knowing that this beauty on earth is such a blessing. Then I realized I have ALOT of temple work to do so I better keep going. Waiting every 5 years is not going to cut it!
Thankfully the Feather River Temple is closer!!!
