Direct Thee For Good

Friends of Redding Stake

One of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon is Alma 37, where Alma is giving counsel to his son, Helaman. This chapter has many reminders of what I need to be doing in my daily life to be focused on the Savior. When I’m struggling with something, I often prayerfully reread this chapter and what the Lord wants me to do will become clearer to me.

The scriptures that I come to most often are Alma 37:36-37 which read, “Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord…and He will direct thee for good”. I have a quote here in my scriptures from Elder Melvin J. Ballard from April 1931 Conference Report that reads, “I know nothing today that the Latter-day Saints need more than the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the solution of the problems of life.”

This is a great reminder to me to faithfully seek the Lord first and He will always, lovingly direct us in the path we should go.
