A Smattering of "In-the-Know's"

Hi Redding Stake!

Here's a list of information that you will probably want to know if you don't already...

Temple Presidency Update

President & Sister Hoybjerg of the Feather River Temple now have Counselors and Assistants who have been called. The First Counselor is Alan Fisher, (Sealer, past Stake President Sacramento Cordova Stake), Assistant Matron Liz Fisher of the Lincoln Stake (She and President Fisher presided over the Barbados Bridgetown Mission, 2018-21). The 2nd Counselor is Dale Madsen (Sealer, past Stake President Chico), Assistant Matron Jo Anne Madsen, (temple shift co-ordinator and Stake Relief Society President).

Ward and Stake level Changes

President Riveros was released after faithfully serving for three years as Branch President of the Riverview branch. He and his wife, Becky, selflessly put off previous life plans to get the branch up and running. What a blessing the Riverview Branch is for our stake! Bishop Shawn Brubaker and his wife Becca Brubaker from the Mary Lake Ward were called to serve in the Spanish Branch. Bishop Brubaker was set apart as the new Spanish Branch President. Jorge Cueva and Fred Carrero were set apart to continue as his counselors.

Bishop Brubaker was, of course, released as bishop of the Mary Lake Ward. Darrell Thompson was called and set apart as the new Bishop of the Mary Lake Ward, with Brad Huskey and Caleb Brown as his counselors.

The Sundial Ward also had a change in bishopric, with Brian Grow called and set apart as the new 2nd Counselor there.

We thank those who were released, and look forward to continued blessings under the new leadership of these various units. And we are grateful to all of you who serve and support the Kingdom of God here in Redding.

Here's a great article about the Respect for Marriage Act. Take a look inside the rationale behind the church’s position on the Respect for Marriage Act, which was back in Congress last week
